Heater Issue

Never noticed it really until the other day.

Turned the heating knob up to "4" and the blower stopped working, Turned it back to "3" and it worked fine, Works perfect on 1, 2 & 3 but not 4.

The owner said he has changed the heater resistor but with speaking to my Renault Specialist he thinks it could be the resistor or the connection / loom as he has seen a few melt.

Has anyone had any issues with the same problem ?

Very very very common. Resister works speed 1 2 and 3 . So you're looking for a broken or burnt wire probably. Lots of threads in here about it

I had the same problem the connector into the resistor pack can start to melt then pins then don't connect properly I fixed mine by only having to extract the loom pins and putting them into a good condition used plastic connector I removed from a scrap Clio I tried it first before replacing the resistor pack itself and its worked for well over a year. Mine is non climate control system and you must check the pollen filter the whole thing starts by the pollen filter getting wet or blocked the motor runs harder pulling more power causing the loom to overheat the air it pulls also cools the resistor pack. I must admit the pollen filter is strange to fit you have to crush it to get it through the hole and I must admit after a year of use is quite dirty as much as the air filter.
