GW? 200 leaving Leeds on the A64

Hello,

I think that was me, your GW200 has a black roof?

I've had mine a couple months now and hadn't seen another in Leeds until I saw a black one on the ring road yesterday then low and behold I see another tonight.

Nick

Pearl white actually  but yeh nice to see another one around, see a fair few 197s about but not many 200s still. Looked nice and clean

No idea who's the black one could be though.

Sorry, pearl white ;/

I try and keep it looking nice but this mornings rain didn't really help.

Still at least it was dry for the run home

As you are obviously local can I be cheeky and ask if you can recommend a good specialist garage in the area? There are a couple of things I'd like to get checked out.

Depends what it is? But Harrats at pontefract will look after you, don't go to the wakefield one.

Brian Leighton over at Howden are supposed to be pretty good too, funnily enough I was just on my way back from having the bumper/blade resprayed when I spotted you  Not had any servicing done there though.

Independants you could go to, maybe RS tuning or http://www.renaultservicingleeds.co.uk/ who I think are a relation of one of the RS tuning guys and are usually well regarded from what I remember.

Cheers, I'll have a look at RS tuning, somewhere in Leeds would be convenient. Queens garage is another possible that seemed to get a few positive reviews?

Main thing to get checked is a tiny bit of play in the drivers side steering link, I'm hoping it is just a rod end. I'd like to get it sorted so I can get the geometry checked as it has a slight pull to the left.

They're renowned for pulling left, try find an off camber road and it'll probably pull right instead though it's always good to get the geo checked anyway.

Yes I had read that too.

So far I'm just working my way through what seem to be the usual issues...
1. Brakes pads unstuck front and rear, after removing the ceased caliper pins.
2. Temperamental Boot release fixed by removing and cleaning contacts.

I wouldn't want to put any perspective owners off but in many ways its a quite a flawed car and you probably shouldn't buy one, unfortunately it is really rather likeable and can put a huge smile on your face exiting roundabouts

I don't think anyone on here is in any delusion as to the construction of the cars to be fair, they do get under your skin a bit though.... maybe a lot :s

Hopefully your gearbox is fine!

keep as far away from evans halsh!t as possible.

get used to tracking it especially with the roads in and around leeds.

not seen a review on queens but they used to get good reviews, or ponte or howden if you live further out.

Thank you for another opinion, I had read some less favourable reviews of Halshaw's so they aren't on my short list.

I'll have a look at the others though.

You are also right about the state of some of the roads, perhaps we should club together and buy the head of road repairs a Clio cup!

Cheers,

Nick

Or just ask him for one of those "I'm not drunk, I'm just dodging pot holes" stickers.

That bit near arla dairy where they have coned off one lane for 3 years now!!!

I'm sure they are just waiting for the entire road to fall down the banking.

2nd the comment on Evans, I'm 2 seconds from them and wouldn't even risk it for convenience. Too many bad experiences with that particular franchisee....
