getting songs from ipod back to itunes.?

after a the pc died last week ive finally got it back but have lost everything
have reinstalled most of the software i had but struggling with getting the songs from my ipod into itunes.
if i click sync it looks like it wants to wipe the ipod clean as there are no songs in itunes.
is there a way around it.?
same goes for iphone and new ipod shuffle.?

Have you bought the songs from itunes? If so it usually asks you to transfer purchases.

If not, you've lost them i think.

Can you not turn on Mass Storage on the iPod, then just drag and drop?

That is true but you can reject the new sync if you want.

Jase, if it's still an issue I may be able to talk you through the CopyTrans app if you like? And anyone else?

How did you do it in the end Jase? I need to put all the songs off my old pc on to my new laptop.

If you use itunes find the folder where your music is kept and copy it to your new laptop. Then open itunes, add folder to library, job's a gooden. After that just delete the folder as it will be on another itune folder.
