Gearbox differences

What are the differences in the 197 gearbox ???

The 200 gearbox is the same??

I have a 197 and in cold I almost could not engage a gear... then when to start run everything stays normal....

It is like this??

The 200 gearbox is a lot smoother, gear changes are slicker and you never miss a cog.

I've had both cars and could definitely notice a difference.

200 'box should be the same as the later 197 'box, earlier 197 'box had shorter ratios.

How many rpm @ 70? Shorter 'box is pulling around 3,600rpm at an indicated 70mph

early 197 have shorter ratios, later 197 have longer ratios, and i beleive 200 have shorter 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and longer 4th, 5th and 6th

I think that is the later one. I think the earlier was TL4003

they changed the gearbox over some time in 2007 so yours would be the later one, only ones before 2007 that have the later box would be due to wanted it changed under warranty due to the high revving on motorways or change of gearbox due to faults.

Clio 200 has first 3 gears shorter than Clio 197 ( >2008 ).

i think the later 197s only have a taller 6th but all the rest are the same
