Funny Noise

Hoping you guys can help me out.

I started my car this morning and straight away I heard a funny like swirling screechy noise so I turned the car off when I turned it back on the noise was still there. I am thinking it maybe the cam as it is overdue. I can only hear the noise when I first start the car after the car is warm and is stationary I cannot hear the noise.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could possibly be? Or am I right thinking it is the cam.

Could be fan belt.


If yours hasnt had cambelt done, its way overdue now.

So I just restarted the car while I popped out for a Cigarette break and the noise is no longer there so now I am thinking it’s not the cambelt. Any ideas?

Its more likely to be a fan belt than the cam belt squeaking, or it could be something different entirely. If it is a belt, some belt slip sometimes works.

As I said though, being as your car is 08, the belt should be done every 5 years, if its not been done its 2 years overdue, get it done asap.

Yeh they are 8000 overdue. Got financial difficulties at the moment

Im with you on that struggle #marriage. Usually the cambelt is changed along with the aux belt and water pump as best practice

Yeh I know, I have found a Specialist 5miles away from my work. It's just finding the money now as the fella is on Sick Pay and I am trying to run the house.

So update booked my car in with a mates friend as he owes him a favour all I need to do is buy the kit and pay him £50 pays to have friends that know people
