for the Akrapovic Clio exhaust guys

Hello guys,

The guys doing the akrapovic exhaust system, as I understand it, the pre cat is not removed? Am I correct?

What id like to know is that do you guys just remove the main cat and just bolt on the akrapovic exhaust system? Leaving the pre cat untouched? You guys do not hollow out the pre cat?

What kind of tone does the exhaust make?

Reason for all my questions is that I did a system similar to this yesterday, and well the tone my car is making is somewhat “bassy”

This is what I did:
Left the pre cat untouched, did not even hollow it out.
Put a full 63mm system on.
The car revs better, and has a bassy tone

Yeah thats right, the Pre-Cat is left due to the bad flatspot removing it causes.

My guess is it's probably down to the centre silencer that you've got fitted, looks pretty big compared to most aftermarket jobs.

That centre silencer is about 3 times bigger than the akrapovic. I have a spare mid section for my akrapovic and I am going ro take the sicencer out so its a straight through for track use.

ok thanks guys, what i realised was i had someone rev the car for me from the outside and its a complete different sound to what i hear on the inside, its sound very nice actually, so i think i have the setup correct, regarding the centre box, thats the smallest box i could find in cape town.
