Exciting day!!

I get my clio today.

After four weeks, four exams, lots of revision and a night out last night I finally get my clio this morning. It's kind of exciting. I'll get more pictures up when I get it but I literally think i'm going to be driving for most of the day!

I move up to Aberdeen tomorrow morning where I start my graduate job on Monday as well.

It's all rather exciting... i'm even looking forward to the 4 hour drive up there!

Yeah, I'm getting a 197.

I lived on Aberdeen last year for a while and made the journey down/up a fair few time's and was astonished at how many speed cameras there are in such a short distance!

Yeah, I'll be taking it easy. I'm not really one for driving horrendously fast or doing anything stupid because it ain't worth it!

Well, I managed to spend most of my day driving the 197 and it's is literally immense, it's an absolute beast.

When I went out last night I didn't have much to drink and stopped drinking early on just because I knew what was coming the next day!!

I had a bit of a nightmare at the dealership as the paintwork looks like absolute crap because there tiny speckles of (what I assume to be) sap all over the car. I brought this to the attention of the salesman and they will apparantley be getting the machine polished soon.

Is this the correct thing to be doing?

I had to have something similar polished out on mine, seems dealers like to park cars under trees......

If they can't polish it out then they'll need to look at other options.

I wouldn't recommend letting the dealership take a machine polisher anywhere near the car, or for that matter clean it. They dont know the correct techniques etc as what a pro detailer would follow.
After instructing my dealership not to touch my 200 upon delivery, they ignored this and caused great damage to the paintwork. Covered in swirls and buffer trails:





The dealership were made to foot the bill of a professional detail. Id certainly look at that avenue, rather than have your paint damaged further.

on the other side I had my dealer clean and protect my car. All I've done is wash it every month and I've used meguiers on it once and it's pretty good.

Your gonna love the car. I'm 2 months in and it still makes me smile.
Look after it and it really will be a beast for a long time

Oh dear!!

The dealership are doing it but they bring in a specialist so I'll be trusting them to do it correctly. I'll be having a word with him/her before they do it and I will be making sure that good products are used. I might even bing them a bit of money to make sure it's top notch...

Well, I'm just about to start packing the car for Aberdeen. You always have much more stuff than you first think! Wish me luck!!!
