Engine problem

Hi guys, I was in the Clio this evening on a short 2 mile journey and after approx. 5 minutes of driving the spanner and esp lights turned on. The car felt under powered and the computer said check injectors. It happened In second gear at 2 thousand revs. I was going slowly so I was a bit surprised. To me it seems to be an electrical problem And injectors. Has anyone had a similar problem? I will try and get it checked out tomorrow :worried: any ideas would be welcome, thanks in advance

I had this exact problem a couple of weeks ago.

Tbh, it happened on 1 random night and hasn't happened again. I've just put it down to a random hissy fit. I was low on coolant but i doubt that was it.

Had the same thing happen to be 2/3 times. It did happen after a drive once I changed the induction.. Are you running standard setup or different?

I've had it in extreme heat (40°c) a few times. Car goes almost limp. It happened shortly after my mods, so I have a feeling it was just my ecu adapting to everything? Hasn't happened since December, so I'm not too worried...

Engine light (197) went on during this limp mode 'glitches'. Lasts about a few seconds. Not sure about the 200's.

Hope it helps.

Peace

It also happens if your foot catches the acelerator pedal and lifts it up more than its rest position even 1 or 2mm. injection fault ESP etc limp home if your driving or no drive if parked . Ignition off and on resets it .

Thanks for the reassurance i was getting worried that it could be expensive. I will go and check it on diagnostics machine tomorrow just for peace of mind. Seemed very strange to me as i was only going 30km/hour max and the engine wasn't under much strain. It is remapped but is running standard induction setup, i had the map done a while back and have never had any problems...

really? i've nevered heard of that one before

Do it while your parked up engine running just lift pedal slightly and iit will happen its sends the potentiometer out of range. Or a least it does on my car

Went this morning to get the car checked out and managed to get 2 diagnostics tests, one at Renault using their clip device or whatever its called and another test at a specialist's garage. Both test didn't show any error codes or any problems with the engine, they drove the car and it ran fine. I've also done 100km in it today and it's been strong at various speeds and rev ranges. It's lead me to think that it was a one time event and i'm hoping it doesn't happen again, the coil packs maybe on their way out but they either work or they don't and for now they seem fine so no point in spending 70 Euros per coil at the moment

Thanks for all the suggestions and help!

€70 per coil?? That's expensive.
I paid £13 per coil when mine went over here.
The same warning lights came up on mine when my coils went....think it was down to my dodgy 64mm tb though.

Glad all is working well again.
