emissions warning light

This morning my car said check emissions on the dash, why would it need me to?

get it plugged in, I'd imagine it's probably a lambda sensor or a cat?

The bloke at the garage says it's something to do with the dephaser

I used to get this problem on my 182 and a mechanic told me to drive 30 miles and it resets it self. Did work on my 182. Don't know if this helps you but worked for me.

I left a plug on the inlet manifold unplugged by accident and I got a check emissions light on... went off after a few days once i'd realised and plugged it back in
