Do i need cambelt change?

Hi,
Read that the 197 needs a change at 5 years or 72K miles.
My car is just coming up to 5 years but has only done 24000 miles and £500 is a lot of money. Do you think i need to get this done now with my mileage or leave it another year or so?

Yeah it would be due for one within next 6-12 months tbh mate. Understand what you mean by it only being low mileage, but the cam belt goes and youm spending alot more than 500 quid to fix it lol

Also look on Karl's section on here, think he's doing a cambelt kit for 220 ish, just need to go to a garage of your choice then for labour side of it.

same situation as you mate, mines done 20k but its due in December and im most definitley having it done lol, prob even before December just to be on the safe side.

You're not too far from me there, I'm taking mine to Birchdown over near Malpas.

They've quoted me just short of £650 for Aux, Cam, Coolant, Dephaser and Water Pump.
