well, so I went to a dealer today to change the gearbox mount and what have I found out... the plastic that is below the engine is somehow in touch with the oil sump... would have never thought a plastic thing like this would rather rub the alloy than itself... but it did rub quite deep, not to the point of making a hole in it fortunately, but probably worth checking out on your cars as well as my car has covered over 50k miles ( 80 k km ) so I can imagine it rubbing all the way through at about 100k miles if its not taken care of, get it checked, I am scheduled next week to see if changing the gearbox mount has eliminated the rubbing, will keep you updated!

air deflector? the plastic engine guard, maybe its an air deflector..... I will get you some pictures when I get a chance next week during the visit in the garage
