cylinder head thickness

does anybody know the thickness of a std 197 cylinder head trying to find out how much mine has had taken off thanks matt

did they not say when it was machined?

the 182 arent supposed to be machined - only allowed 0.05mm warp so should the 197 have been machined?

you can skim the 182 and have quite a lot taken off without causing issues of interference. It's just ignition and fueling that would need adjusting, and main dealers can't do that so the manual says don't skim. 197 has a little more valve lift but I've still skimmed them and with Cat402s fitted, seen no issue

how far have you gone on the skim then?

0.15mm (6thou) off 197, and fairly regularly take 0.25mm(10thou) off 172/182
