Checking timing before remap?

Had a search but couldn't find if this had been covered before. There can be some big differences between different engines from stock when people get a remap. Can't remember where, but I saw something about the timing being ever so slightly different to begin with causing these differences. Is it worth getting the timing checked prior to getting a remap?

This might be complete cr*p but just curious?:tongue_smilie:

no thats true mate, the mapper can probably do this for you if its a concern, iirc its just a matter of getting the engine at tdc then popping the cam end covers caps and checking the correct timing tool fits

bit more to it unfortunately, you have to remove the airbox and battery and all the pipework around it, simpley becuase of the way it's designed and gets in the way. only about an hour to do the check properly though.
