Fastest growing list in a while this hahaha!!!

Sweet Ill pm jonesy when Ive got some calipers and then start from there, ill prob charge around 30 to 40 labour cost + parts and it takes me around a week or two to paint them as i work in the week

Excellent!!!

I might even have the stickers for mine lying around the house, I did have a set somewhere.

Hahaha good effort!!!

Jonesy don't let the side down now, get some pennies sent over!!!

wow that kicked off!

One thing is that I don't undestand though, Willis why is your name above mine??? lol only joking mate

Now I've got a question which might sound a bit silly but how do we know that all the calipers (either the ones bought from ebay or the ones coming off other cars) are in the same condition? I've heard issues regarding damaged bleed nipples and dodgy threads etc. Also, as I've mentioned, the seals from my Brembos are not perished, they are in great condition so how will that work out on the exhange basis scheme (which is a great idea btw because it means that we don't have to make our cars reduntant for x number or days)?

What I mean is that my seals might be fine but definitely not new so they can't be used in a newly refurb set of calipers for the next customer, however the capilers I'd be receiving might be in need of new seals but it'd be a unecessary expense to pay extra for that if mine are fine in the first place. Just thoughts really....

Stephen, do we have an option in colour by the way mate? Do you also do rears?

damaged threads shouldnt be a problem as i can ally weld so i could repair the threads if need be, but ill inspect the calipers when i recieve them, but the whole thing about the seals is a problem. I might just replace seals on all them that way i wont have any problems. In my eyes a refurb means replacing all seals.

Colours at the moment are the ones vht do, as im not a professional painter and dont have access to specialist equipment yet.

Havent done my rears yet as the weather is ****e at the moment, they look pretty simple though.

If I've read it right and my understanding of a ''refurb'' is the same as Stephens, then Stephen replaces all of the seals on the calipers Yiannis, so it makes no difference what condition they're in when he recieves them as they're replaceed with new ones anyway... That's what will be in the refurbishment kit that he used on his, new seals etc.. It'll just complicate things beyond all realms of sensibility if you wanted to keep x, y or z off the calipers you send to him. You would recieve your new refurbed calipers BEFORE you sent him the ones on your car. The ones on your car would then be stripped and refurbished with new seals for the next owner... So regardless of the condition of your current seals, you would never see them again anyway!!! If that makes sense???

For example, Jonesy will recieve the calipers that Stephen has just bought (freshly painted and new seals). He then sends his calipers to Stephen who refurbishes them and paints them for you. You then fit them and send him your calipers. He then refurbishes them and paints them and sends them to me. I fit them and send mine back to him. He works his magic and sends them to Gam, who fits them and sends his old ones back to Stephen ready for whoever next needs a set and so on and so on and so on and all is well with the world. Bleed nipples cost buttons and are easy to get hold of, so I guess that's up to Stephen to decide wether he changes them as well (if they aren't already part of the refurbishment kit he uses) or wether he leaves that for us to do afterwards. Let's not over-complicate things!!!

*EDIT*

Stephen beat me to it already!!!

Nice one mate, thanks for clarifying:smile:

EDIT. Willis just read your post and thanks for revising the queue haha

Yes i totally get how this exhange thing works mate, I was only enquiring about the seals and unecessary expenses but if Stephen says that he changes then anyway then fair enough:smile: Futureproof etc:smile:
