Alternator Belt Position

A noise started on the alternator belt yesterday on idle I'm not quite sure but I think if someone can confirm does the aux belt sit one grove out on the alternator pulley for alignment the belt seems to be running towards the engine and the edge is breaking up and I have a free grove on the lower engine pulley and on the alternator pulley on the outside.

Right cheers I've got a temporary belt until I get a genuine Aux kit I do remember about a month ago hearing a clunk like a tiny pot hole hit in that area while driving the car, I have complete arch liners and under engine cover I'm guessing something got under the belt and jumped it over one step I did have it off fixing the hard water pipe but that was 8 months ago and it was a chirping noise that began yesterday morning on cold start and only on idle.

Thanks for the reply I was almost sure that the belt was narrower and had to sit to one side.

Again thanks
