can some one tell me how hard it is to get a good match and roughly what it would cost me, as the car im hopefully away to but dosen't have a cup spoiler and i want one haha

my 2p's worth.

£285ish for a painted spoiler. I don't think it would be as hard as it doesn't sit flush so will reflect a different depth anyway?

When I had the top of the tailgate repaired and repainted when I had the Cup spoiler removed the garage said that theres only 2 AG paints. Ours was a perfect match.

Where can I get a painted one from?
Hopefully not I found a fitting guide looks easy enough haha famous last words

smithandroper (probably the best bodyshop in the UK) but his PM system isn't working? but Gman60 is in the parts department and will sort you out.

iirc it was £285ish painted & posted.

or ring smithandroper on 0844 822 5168 and ask for Carl in the body shop

AG shouldnt a problem, but there is ALOT in the mix to formulate AG so its all down to the mixer, and you'll want to buy it in atleast 1 litre to get the accuracy.

Make sure you use an IXELL supplier, i wouldnt use anythind else on a renault myself, whats the point lol......they come from the factory in IXELL.

£305 inc VAT sprayed & delivered for a cup spoiler from us, + a bit extra as we will want to buy the AG in more quantity.

Hi all
As Mentalpen has posted we can do one painted in Ixell and posted out for £290.
We mix all our own paint in house and have a good relationship with Renault and Ixell.

Nice under cutting lol, if that includes VAT, boxing, ton of bubble wrapping. We have had boxes made to fit these spoilers, as renault dont provide one, they are basically shipped in a jiffy bag, hence why our price is higher. Wait till you see the state they arrive from Renault, pin hole hell.

You have an IXELL schema then?

Just to say i have used smithandroper many times on LY version 1 and version 2, albi and glacia white.

Foxspeed has also used them and there work is second to none.

Don't believe me???? check out a .R spoiler group by on megane sport LINKY which includes spoiler only, painted and painted and fitted.

I don't doubt spray shacks work as i''ve read about them but i'm giving my opinion on work i've had carried out.

Yes we have a full Ixell scheme. I know what you mean about the spoilers they are a bit of a problem with pinholes.

Sprayshack the finish on the spoiler is something i can only dream of achieving! Thats not been flatted and polished has it. Just primed, flatted, basecoat then cleared?

Wouldnt say im anywhere near as experienced as you and plus i paint commercial stuff and rarely do car parts unless its my own, but i can never ever get a finish like that.

yep thats direct from the booth, couple of nibs were removed thats about it. Thats a speedy lacquer aswell, its all down to the application really to get the gloss, finding a lacquer that works for you aswell, and of course a bloody good lacquer gun (£500+ gun helps).

Cheers,

I do bit of painting as bit of a hobbie just wondered how u get a paint match when sending parts out? How do u get the right shade to the car?

Cos when ever I am painting something I take car or panel and have it matched with chips normally, just wondered how u did it without the car, if that makes sense?

Experience really lol, we are a renault specialist so we do alot with the common colours on renaults, it is literally impossible to get a perfect match, as no 2 mixes of paint are 100% the same, and alot of it is in the application. If your joining butt up, line to line, even if the paint is an excellent match you will still need to blend if its metalic.
