Aftermarket Exhaust Advice

Hello all,
Am wanting some advice with what I should and should not do to my standard exhaust system on my R27. I would like it to sound a little more sporty than it does, however I really don't want it to be much louder than it is right now. I was thinking of having powerful make me up a backbox only??? Any advice/help would be much appreciated. I also don't want to do anything that will negatively affect performance

Resonated systems sound sweet and are not overly loud. I had a scorpion on mine and it sounded great.

Whilst I've now got a decat as well, and I've always loved the sound, even the resonated scorpion is quite loud.

I guess an aftermarket exhaust will always be a fair bit louder than a standard system, however that can be half of the appeal

Some exhausts can exaggerate the existing flat spot, which is worth bearing in mind. This thread will give you lots of info and videos on the different systems available

I have been thinking about the same thing. I've got a decat already and did consider having a custom back box made just to beef up the sound slightly, plus it should be a lot cheaper than a full system. Just not sure how it would sound.

I think the standard system does give off a fair amount of noise. I let a friend have a play in mine and I could hear it from some way off

Cheers for the reply guys just got back a quote from powerflow 350-400 for just a backbox and fitment. Which I seemed to think was fairly expensive considering its just a backbox but could be wrong there???

I'd keep an eye out for a second hand system. they often pop up for around £250.

You could near enough buy a brand new full scorpion system for that price.

Yes I thought that! Not exactly as if powerflow is anything special either

What about a sports cat?? Does this enhance the sound, and will it still exaggerate the flat spot?
