Drop the engine oil out look for any metal in there if none put it back in and assume it's coming from outside of the engine pully area ect Trophymad

Check out eBay for refurbed ones with new joint makes it a easy swap that way Trophymad

For sure there are some **** ones out there as not Many people can really afford to keep them maintained properly but your right on the moral of the story thing take someone who knows about them as it will save a lot of problems in the end as I have seen some rubbish clios go for strong money
