My car has Bilstein b14's. Can't say if they provide the most comfortable ride, yet I'm pretty sure that they are solid, less bouncy and offer good control when cornering.

I have a 197 with standard springs. I am looking at a set up that will be for track only.

I will be running semi slick tyres.

Can i get away with lowered springs? If so which ones?

Or do i need coilovers? If so which ones and are there any offers about?

Mark Fish supplied them to me mate at factory prices and I got them fitted at his workshop. There was no need to buy the top mounts as well because I had been running adjustable top mounts with the stock suspension.

Hi, can you please hook me up with Mark Fish? Need AST badly! Thanks

Hi @Sheleak, I haven't been to his workshop for many years now as his rates are on the high side.

You can now buy these directly from AST should you wish to, a few members in here are now running ASTs and that's exactly what they've done.

Speak to Curtis from AST and he'll sort you out:smile:

Thanks a lot! Still struggling between KW ClubSport and AST 5100 though

Where can I learn more about it, mate? Their site is down

Their site was hacked some time ago, it's going to be sorted out soon.

Until then, use their Facebook.

I have the Jade Bilstein set up and I think it's absolutely fantastic.

Call Sean at Jade Developments mate, he'll tell you all you need to know. Specs... they can be tailored to your needs to best to discuss with Sean. Also, I got a whopping discount on my set as I'm helping him out with something so my price won't be any good to you.

For what it's worth, there's a quick summary of my thoughts here

My car has H&R springs although not sure entirely what ride height as it was done by the previous owner.

Ride height isn't as low as some of the others in this thread but I constantly "ground" over speed bumps (especially those stupid "speed cushion" designs) and the ride is pretty stiff and bumpy. I like it to a degree but it is uncomfortable for passengers.

Anybody else also have this with the H&R springs?

I've also got 30/30 H&R springs with non-cup shocks and agree. You really do bounce around on rough roads, and unfortunately most of them around here are complete crap.

Need to change a couple of hub bearings and so decided to switch the springs out for some OEM ones at the same time. Money is burning a hole in my pocket! :money:

The dampers are original but I have no idea if they are cup or standard as the original buyer factory-upgraded several other things but I have no proper record. Is there an easy way to find out which dampers I have so I can order the right springs? Do they have any markings?

I was wrong assuming I've the later top mounts, turned out it's the early ones! Decided to get the Bilstein B14's. Where's the best place to order them? Anything south of £843 would be great!

I'm also replacing the top mounts with new, OEM ones. Am I missing an opportunity by not getting adjustable ones? Car is used daily on road and occasionally (3-5 times a year only) on track.

Thanks!
