Which dampers/coilovers for 90% track work?

I used to have a 172ph1, since then I've had a couple of cars and I'm in the process of selling a Formula Ford 1.6 'Egoboost' (last raced in 2014 by Ash Sutton).

I fancy driving a road-going car again and I plan to buy a 197 to do Sprints and possibly Hill Climbs with the first modification being suspension. It'll be mainly used on track and the only time it'll be used on road will be to get to the track, I don't need the car setup for 'fast-road' use and I'm prepared to dawdle at 60mph on motorways if necessary.

The sprint championship I'm in mandates no more than 1-way adjustable coilovers but damper choice would be free. I've done lots of searching and for coilovers I'm thinking of Madeno Bilstein B14 or KW Variant 1 but would I be better off just getting some decent dampers and setting the car up with a good choice in spring rate? As I'm not allowed the adjustability of 2/3 way coilovers.
Would the Access Kit Bilstein dampers be a good option? I'm not even sure of their cost.

If there is an especially good option then I'm willing to spend upto £1500.

thanks
