Weird MKIII seat side cushion problem

So I have this really odd issue with the driver's (regular, non Recaro) seat on my '09 200. The left side 'cushion' is pressing against my side, uncomfortably so, and it really causes actual pain after about an hour of driving. This has never happened before in 15 years of owning and driving this car, plus, I've lost 20kgs in the last couple of years, so it's not me growing larger. I was therefore sure that something has changed in the actual seat. And, what do you know, looking at the seat from the front of the car, you can see that the left 'side cushion/flap' is slightly bent inwards, compared to the right cushion (which extends outwards, as it should). On the passenger side, both side cushions are perfect (extending outwards).



My questions are:

1) Any idea how this happened and 2) is this fixable? I'm guessing most garages would recommend I find a used seat back or something.. also, nothing seems broken, no weird noises coming from it, it reclines normally and the lumbar support also works fine.

Also, if I try pressing against the side cushion with a lot of force, it seems to 'relax' a bit but after a while it returns to the bent inwards position.. perhaps it's just my idea and I'm just squeezing against the padding, I'm not really sure. How odd!
