We want your thoughts, feedback and opinions!

Good cop
Dear all

Following on from the change in format for the forum, the staff and admin have been discussing the best ways to grow our site and take it forward. We are in agreement that while we would like to maintain the strong technical assistance and focus on Clio ownership, we are keen to develop the forum into more of a community hub. A place where the members can visit daily and enjoy their time here chatting to like-minded people about a wide range of subjects.

So the purpose of this thread is so we can ask YOU what you would like to see on the forum. Are there any changes you would like to see made? What things are currently missing that could be introduced?

All suggestions and ideas are welcomed and we encourage you to discuss them here with us. Whether you are a long-standing, frequent visitor or you have just joined up, we want to hear from you. Please feel free to reply in the thread, or if you would prefer you may contact a member of staff directly. Staff members are listed below:

@jimmyd81
@Chris91
@Pav
@sevenfourate
@montana
@foxspeed

Thank you for reading, we look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible.

Would be nice if you could add a load of photos to your own profile page so other people can see them without having to start a progress thread. Don't know if that poss?
Your own gallery so to speak.

The search bar for finding threads isn't exactly the greatest!

Think the community idea is a good one but isn't there other sites all ready dedicated for such things?

Just my initial thoughts.

Free gifts, free paid membership, if you get me. One lucky member a week to be moderator for a day

Yeah sure we will get on that right away!

This was a feature available on the old forum software, a feature that was hardly used by anyone, if you want to let people see pictures of your car without a progress thread, feel free to make a gallery thread... That feature is not on this new forum though.

Yes there are thousands of other sites for people to interact on, on a more social basis, but why not another with people you also share common interests with?

Thanks very much for the feedback so far, this is exactly what we're looking for.

To add to what Chris has said - the new format has brought with it a lot of great, new features that IMO has helped make the user experience a lot slicker. The downside, if you like, to new software is the loss of certain features that were in place on the old site. Where possible, we will reintroduce things if there is a demand for it (and the capacity) - for example, the old smilies/emoticons that have recently been brought back. Keep your suggestions coming in.

We pride ourselves on being a very healthy source of information regarding our cars - you are never far away from an answer to any queries you may have - and we want this to remain a key part of the content on here. We do also want to promote and encourage a more social aspect to the forum too - inject a bit of humour, allow the members to show their personalities and therefore help grow friendships.

We feel confident we can balance both of these aspects and develop the forum into a thriving community, with members that can offer the technical knowledge and skills, as well as giving them a place to be entertained and enjoy a more social interaction with their fellow forum users.

To a level we tolerate a little bit of swearing, it is an adult forum at the end of the day, but s's, f's and c's no thanks :admin:

Lots off forums i've seen have a "Members only area" where slightly relaxed rules apply....

No racism, obscenely offensive profanities, heavy politics etc but a little generally good hearted ribbing, with some controversial subjects and colourful language is all good - IN THIS ONE AREA ONLY....and only for paid members.

Perhaps some membership goodies like Cliosport do like nifty USBs and tyre depth gauges/pressure gauge. Wouldn't mind a small increase in the yearly membership price at all

Good idea. This is something that we can take up with the senior CS admins (who control this aspect of the site).

What about mini competitions?

Yeah we would like to do more of these. We had one last xmas with a fairly basic concept - to enter members had to reply in the thread with some basic information about themselves (nothing personal!). Prizes included a free remap, oil gift set from Opie, and gift forum memberships. We are hoping to get the same thing going again this Xmas.

How about high scores or something in certain games? Screen shot your kill streak or whatever

Yep, go for it Steve - you're welcome to start a thread for it :smile:

This is totally the kind of content that we feel would encourage a social side to the forum - sharing interests in things other than cars. Whether that be gaming, sports, movies etc.
