Vinyl wrapped mirrors?

Has anyone done this? If so, how have they held up and do you have any pictures? (Preferably gloss black)

I am pretty sure I want black mirrors for my Gordini but want to keep the white mirrors in case I change my mind. The original plan was to buy some more covers and spray them gloss black but that means spending £50/£60 for something I might not like after 30 seconds.

Could try and get some from someone breaking a black 197? There is one being broken at the moment, no idea if it still has mirrors

I had mine done at a window tinting place, cost me £40 and they looked good, but the guy that did them did a really bad job. But he looked like he wouldn't take criticism too well so I didn't go back and complain! They have shut now too!

Anyway, I liked how they looked so went and bought some more covers and had them sprayed gloss black instead.

Btw, 197 mirrors are different to 200 mirrors, so probably won't fit! You could try wrapping a bin bag round to give you the idea of how they might look though. Cheaper way than I found out! Lol!

I know 197 mirror casings wont fit the 200 so no worries there. Brilliant idea Arran hahaha Love it! I'll have a go tomorrow next time I wash the car.

I was going to buy some vinyl off eBay and do it myself. When the vinyl was fitted did it look obvious they were wrapped? i.e could you see creases where to mirrors curve or anything?

providing you have a clean surface to work with.... and dependant on vinyl quality, give it a bit of heat and you should be able to fit without any creases. Ive done it on a few cars when I was working in sign writing.

still in two minds to set up my own business in sign writing to be honest, just gaining the neccessary contacts to make some money thats the only prob :worried:
