Surprised this has taken so long for Ferrari to lodge their complaint over but they've put it in today.

Not sure if anyone else saw it, the SKY coverage were all over it when it happened. Seems pretty obvious to me that Vettel was overtaking under yellows. A penalty should be applied, if that means he loses the tittle, it'll be a shame but so be it. You can't have a hand someone a championship they shouldn't have won.

Here's a video, couldn't get any off YouTube as F1 have had them all removed.

Been reading into this apparently red bull say it was red and yellow for the conditions but I'm sure it was under safety car regulations. Also if it is an offense bit dodgy of the fia to turn a blind eye to it

There were two occasions, that one in the video on Vergne and the other on one of the Saubers. Although they're saying the move on the Sauber wasn't illegal, but it was behind the safety car. All seems a bit too cloak and daggers to me. Even Alan Mcnish was saying he that the Sauber one was off.

Apparently there was a green flag waved between the yellow flashing board and the green one say the FIA.

There was yeah, but he then went past another yellow before making the overtake, so surely he was then in a yellow zone?

Ferrari have until the 30th to post a complaint so not long til we find out, the fia are not investigating anything until a complaint or protest has been announced

Just when you think F1 has earned a little bit of dignity back this happens. Ferrari can't you just lose graciously? After all wouldnt we all rather the title be decided on that epic final race of the season than an FIA board room?

Not looked at the links as I'm on iPhone but if they are the same as I've seen then there are red and yellow and then flashing yellow.

Iirc the argument is he made the move between the red/yellow and flashing yellow.

The second was before the flashing yellow again but iirc it was under SC so.........

Either way it's a sad end to a fantastic season.

There is a green flag waving on the inside of the circuit before he makes the overtake, all clear!

Its not just Ferrari though, LOTS of the media have pointed this out. If anything the fans deserve for the right decision to be made by the FIA whichever that is. The problem is I don't really trust the FIA to make the right decision...

This is just the media trying to create a story. The race is finished, the championship is over and it's way too late to lodge an appeal about an incident on the track. What are they going to do, make him drive back to Brazil for a drive-through penalty!

They could just add the time of a drive though on to his finishing time. Would bump him back enough places to lose the title.

TBH Looking again and again at the footage it all seems a bit all over the place, green, yellow and yellow/red flags all over the bloody place!

No it's not too late, they have until 30.11.12 which is the official end of the season, to lodge a complaint.

And yes, they can enforce a 20 Second time penalty which would drop Vettel to 8th and give Alonso the title by 1 Point.

It was really clear watching it on Sky and McNish was very quick to pick up on it... There may have been a waved green flag on the inside of the circuit, but it's difficult to tell from the footage I've seen. Of course, the FIA will have umpteen angles to view it from. Also, even if Ferrari don't/haven't lodged an appeal, the FIA have to lodge an appeal as it's in their own rules that if evidence is presented to them that suggests any rule-breaking, they are duty bound to investigate it internally even if they don't recieve any formal complaints...

Hang on what about Ferrari team order they did to let Alonso win last year or was it 2 year ago & did they get lose point?? No!

Now that Brazil race you can see Massa is quicker the Alonso & then Massa slow down let him team mate pass. That look like a team order with out radio talking, I thought the team order was ban in F1?

So unlikely going to happen, only big problem with Ferrari they alway blame someone & don't like to lose.
