Apologies if this has been asked before but new tyres are always coming out!

I'll be doing about 3 track days this year and was wondering what peoples thoughts were for something that is road focused but also up to a little track work.

I was thinking about Michelin Pilot Sport 4's. They seem to be a good compromise.

Any other suggestions?

I haven't personally used my pilot sport 4's on track but on the road they're incredible. There are some people out there who have used them on track though and seemed to rate them.

I've used PS4 both on road & on track & really rate them. Maybe a tad slower than AD08r on track in the dry, but miles better in the wet. Better than the Continental Sport Contact 3 & 5s I had before. For everyday use plus the occasional track day I think they're great. The best all round tyre I have used.

Hankook S1 Evo is also a good choice and will save you a significant amount over Michelin.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have PS4's on the gti and am impressed with them on the road. Will throw a set of them on the clio

If you want a steerable trackway tyre, the Nankang NS-2R is an excellent tyre. More grip and traction than the Michelins and cheaper too. Ive used them on my e92 M3 with great results.

Thanks, I actually had the ns2rs on my Lotus as a cheaper alternative to the AD08Rs.

Never really thought of them on the Clio, will give those reviews a read!
