Just spent 27quid on French Maps for Le Mans, have never done the English map update due to cost, it's almost cheaper just to buy a new sat nav :/

all you do is plug the tomtom into your laptop and open tomtom home (available from tomtom website)

look to buy a map and then see which are available for your tomtom and where you want it for.

EG. my map is Western Europe 905 4797

you download it via the internet (google is your friend) but if you struggle let me know.

then use a program to patch the navcore files (ttsystem or pnd navigator) and patch the map and any fuel, voices and speed cams you add.

i use fast active for it and you can get it from http://limelinx.com/dn990 as i've just uploaded it for you.

maps need meta data so make sure its available and you can update the mata data for fast active within the program but most maps have it if not.

you can download speed cams and add them to the map and use the tool to patch the map and then tomtom cams are updated via tomtom home as if you had purchased them.

SORRY SHOULD HAVE SAID before making any changes BACK UP YOUR TOMTOM!!!!!!

using the program overwrites the .dct files even if they are legit ones.

if you add premium and none premium cams, tomtom will only use the premium version obviously.
