Thinking about buying the Mrs a Twingo 133.

Missus has just passed her driving tests and insurance quotes for a 133 look quite reasonable. Perfect first car with a little performance IMO.. can't seem to find finance examples or anything anywhere... Anyone got any knowledge? Also any pro's and con's for the car would be helpful

Just the normal things really, check the belts have been done etc. Nice first car

i had 133 gordini and i loved it cheap too run even if your kicking its hole in great first car if you ask me also handles great But i would also have a look a the 1.2 turbo with little mods you can get that thing off its head too

Loved mine. Ran it for 3 years and only 2 common issues in that time.

The ball joints on the wishbones. Renault still refuse to acknowledge it as common.

The scuttle can leak onto the coil packs resulting in them corroding. Easy enough fix.

Servicing isn't as cheap as the alternatives, and the cambelt is 5 years or 60k iirc, but little else for the money will be as fun.

They sound fantastic, they rev cleanly and freely when warmed up (and all is well) and imo have a good balance between aggressive body kit and less agressive city car looks.

I miss mine badly and would have it back in a heart beat.
