Straight cut gearbox. Anyone

Has anyone got one or used one for road use and cost as opposed to STD on a clio 197/200? I am used to the extreme noise as used to race mini,s with c/r s/c with paddle clutch. Trouble was there was no clutch slip, you were either engaged or not. Bit difficult on a hill in traffic but fun.

Equally I believe & understand they are roughly 15% more efficient, giving that trade of at the the wheels where it counts.

Any comments welcome please..

Can I ask what the reason is you'd want a straight cut gearbox?

Assuming its still a road car with the comment of hill traffic.

the old clio cup mk3 cars used Sadev gearboxes i believe. Theres been a few threads on this subject before. The conclusion has always been that theyll be useless in traffic and will blow up in a few thousand miles on the road, not to mention they need servicing regularly.

I have a R5 with a Sadev Dogbox , and it is driven as a daily driver , 30-40 000 km and the box is fine. Opened it recently and it is like brand new. Also have a Sadev sequiential on the 197 . It is even stronger.
The R5 is also with a 2.0 engine , 300' cams ... it idles like **** .... never stalled it at a traffic light.
There is a "way" of driving such a car. 1-st gear and revers are really hard to get in at idle, so you have to start engaging 10 sec before green at the traffic light. The easy way count - 1 2 3 .... put in gear gently , if it dasnt want to get in gear , release the clutch , wait a second for the gears to spin , and select again .
Also with a 174 km top speed at 9000rpm , fuel economy is poor .... but hell with it , i have the fastest car at the traffic light

The Brake disks are Red Spec Gr.N and the brake pads are CL for R3Maxi , depending on the way the car is driven , they last from couple of hundred km to .... 1-2000 ....
