Steelies...

Evening all!!!

I'm sure somebody has asked before, maybe even me. But I can't find the thread.

Anyway... Does anybody know if the Renault 5 Stud steelies will fit over the Brembos?

Does anybody have such a wheel hidden in the back of the garage that they're not using?

Cheers,

Will

Full sized wheels or space savers?

The espace space saver fits over the brembos, the 17" one it's the same as used for megane 225 spare.

Excellent. Nice one mate, something to think about for a little project.

Not too fussed about width as steelies can be banded.

Probably still be lighter than Cup race car wheels!

Thinking as a set of winter wheels with some winter tyres as my commute is all rural roads. But also, for the same price I might be able to pick up a little 1.0 toy that doesn't matter if it gets bumped or broken etc.. I'll have a think, got a few bits going on at the moment... My creative juices are flowing hahaha!

I've thought about a set of winter wheels, the best option seems to be some of those laguna alloys that look sim to the speedlines.

yea laguna silverstones, hard to find a set in decent condition, and they still fetch around £40-50 a wheel on ebay.

Iv picked up 2 sets of raiders in the last 2 years for less than £150 a set. Bang some part worns on and your sorted?

Part worn winter tyres are actually a bit of a false economy as on the continent once the tyres reach 4mm of tread they cease to be classified as winter tyres. You can buy a set of 4 nankang SV2s for less than £300. Whilst they might not be the best winter tyres, they sure as hell will be better than any summer tyres when the roads are below 7 degrees! They'll also last a few winters as long as you don't use them from September to March!
