Shoutbox??

On a few forums that I am on they have a shoutbox at the top of the page when you can ask questions or just general chit chat throughout the day. To avoid spamming these are usually only open to paid members.

Has this site ever considered having one? I think they are fantastic for banter and getting to know the other members.

I've seen this on other forums too, sometimes it works, sometimes it just is a fad and doesn't get used after a while.

On our local forum we have an every day chat thread. Seems to keep spam or chit chat off important topics
