Shock absorber ?

Had a faint rumbling noise coming from my near side front wheel recently. Has gotten louder this week so tonight I stopped to have a look and noticed a fair amount of fluid/oil just under my front Spring, presume it's probably my shock absorber leaking? Can anyone confirm this for me? Seems to become louder when turning left and quieter when turning right - but could be my imagination.

sounds like it

given it a corner bounce test - push down on it and if it bounces up down 2-3 times the damper is shot (stiff suspension is a bit difficult to test at time)

Yup failed that test, drivers side I could hardly push it, passenger side felt softer and bounced a couple of times after.
