Scorpion slash cut tips

Just got a new scorpion exhaust after waiting weeks for it to be made. Went to put the slash cut tips on and they seem to be the same diameter pipe as the back box so don't slide over. Anyone had this problem before?

A buddy has a 197 with an Akra. He's running self-made slash cut tips that have the same diameter as the Akra pipes. They're attached via longer exhaust clamps.
