SatNav / Phone on the Windscreen

The Clio 197 12V Socket is (rather stupidly) miles away from the windscreen.

I use my iPhone as my SatNav (Lightning-USB cable) and the 1m length is far too short. In my previous car I always kept the SatNav to the far right corner of the windscreen - what are my options?

1) USB cable extension (considerably cheaper than buying a longer Lightning cable)
2) Mount the phone on the AirVent with some sort of Phone holder/clip?
3) ??

What have others done? Any suggestions ?

I got a 3 metre iPhone cable from Curry's. About 15 quid. Not made by Apple but I'm happy with it and it should be long enough [emoji4]
