200: RS tuning Remap OR K Tech performance Pack 1

Hello,

I would like to take your advice I am having stock clio 200 would like to gain little HP , so I read about two product I belive they suite me in terms of performance.

The question is which are product shall I go , K tech is reliable when known name especially in renault UK.
RS tuning I don't know some one used there product before.

Need your advice.

Thanks,
A.Askar

I personally haven't had my car mapped by either, but from what i've heard RS tuning do a brilliant job and people travel far to get their cars mapped by them! Ktec are also good from what i've heard but their dyno is a bit 'Happy' and reads figures higher than they actually are.

Just a general jist of what i've seen from facebook forums and on here. When i eventually get mine done i imagine ill be travelling to rs tuning

RS Tuning. Definitely. Best in the business most likely and you'd be in very good hands.

KTR have an up and down reputation and it's well known their dyno is very happy as Lewis said above.

You're not going to get much more noticeable power though, it's just going to make it drive and pull a bit better.

But really, if you plan to do any breathing mods, you should do that before getting it mapped to get the most out of everything.

I will plan to buy induction kit from K tech left handed black color hopefully it will respond positively on the performance .. No plan for exhaust for the time been

Hopefully by induction kit and RS tuning device will gain a bit of HP

We have the KTR induction kit on ours and we absolutely LOVE it. Sounds amazing. And you don't even hear it on a gentle part throttle.

I'd definitely have that on before mapping, it's a tiny help, but it's a help.

Don't expect much out of it though. There's a very good chance that with the induction and the map your car might make less than standard. It's not unusual. Ignore the BHP figure and focus on how much better and racier it feels afterwards.

KTR induction is supposed to add a few BHP, the Akrapovic exhaust is supposed to add 8. With those mods on ours it made 196 BHP on very reliable rollers. So even 1 down from the factory figure.

But it drives a LOT better.

Just err on the side of caution and don't expect much gains on paper. It's definitely worth doing though. Car feels great afterwards.

Bear in mind the '197' is 197ps rather than 197 bhp, which equals 194.2bhp. So you actually made 1.8bhp over the factory figure. Not bad for an outlay of over a grand lol:french: but as you say it'll drive so much better, which is what to focus on rather than bhp figures.

Just to echo the comments above, RS Tuning. I’ve travelled from Northern Ireland on 3 separate occasions to have 3 sperate cars mapped by RS Tuning. It may seem mad to most but we don’t really have any reputable tuners here and Paul has always looked after me and accommodated me every time I have visited.

On my current 200 I have the same set up as @///M with the Akrapovic and KTR Induction Kit. Lovely note off both, the compliment each other very nicely and I ended up with around 8-10bhp gain along with the car being much more pleasant to drive.

I agree with the above thoughts on RS Tuning. You won't see massive power gains as their rollers are know to be very honest. The driveability will be much improved though. I suspect that if you had a remap at RS Tuning & then put the car on someone else's rollers the power figure shown would be higher than the reading given at RS Tuning. They are the only people I would let map my car.

I knew someone was gonna pick me up on that.

Glad it was you so you so you could also remind me how much it cost...

That's exactly what I am looking for to let the engine breath a little especially when it's on low Rev like e to 3 RPM , I am not looking for much HP as I didn't spend much .. And even if I spent I would for megane much cheaper to spend over clio that's not design to gain much more HP , I am very happy to hear from your all positive comments on RS tuning for sure I will deal with them after all positive feedback from all of guys as Eddie said he is traveling all that distance to let RS team working on his car that's means a lot.

To be honest I don't have much budget to spend on akra. Exhaust at the moment I wish I can especially after people saying u can easily gain 9 to 10 HP , but at the moment it's not the wright time for me, maybe I would for K Tech cat back in the near future.

So conclusion is induction kit from K tech and RS tuning remote remapping device I think that will suite my budget.

Thanks,

For me as u said the driveability is the most important thing to gain , especially where I am living is very crowded city so I am looking for good pull and low Rev that would help a lot.

I am think to lower the car with eibach pro lowering spring what do u think of that steps guys ? If some do have pic would be appreciated.

You've made the right decision. And I wasn't suggesting you buy an Akra, I know it's far too silly for most people, was just making the point that even with those mods our car made no extra power over standard. Ok, an extra 1.8 BHP (thanks @Sean197  ) but the point is don't expect massive gains. It's all about the better drive. It will feel better and sound awesome. I'm sure you'll be happy.

I can't speak for Eibach, but I'm very happy with my Cooksport springs. 30mm drop all round, compliant in daily driving & car corners much flatter when pushing on track.
