Big spec 200 Cup *FOR SALE*

Blyton 28th May . . . . Cars are dialled in and were set up for two full days! I've had some bad luck but this has to be a record . . . went out for a few sighting laps as you do, ran the curb a bit through the wiggler and the osf wheel locks up :sob: the EE bracket had completely broken away at the hub pulling the shaft out also, luckily it was the o/s so no oil on the track but still took a good 40 mins to get it on the truck and get the track opened again . . embarrassing to say the least! 10/10 to the Marshals they were on the ball helping . . . Was only around 30 mph but totalled the tyre, so lucky it was low speed.

Ordered a pair of new billet brackets from Pure with their own bump steer kit thinking I could sell my spare n/s ee bracket but that ended up being fractured also! Very lucky boy!! On the plus side Pure's revised brackets have given nearly 6 degrees of caster so will have to have a play with the geoIMG_8786.JPGIMG_8788.JPG.
 
Coming home from Blyton with as much fuel as I went with I thought Id treat myself when these came up for sale, K-Specs manifold back - single exit and cae shifter. The shifter needs new cables but will have them made no problem.
K-Specs aren't very well known in the UK they're a Bulgarian company and their fab work is 100% Its a shame to hide it!! V-band clamps and 1 x flexi. After a 'few' hours wrapping, offered it up then had to find some new mounts to suit the single exit system. (vw polo) It weighs ALOT less that the old system and sounds awesome!

Will hopefully get the front bumper and bonnet painted before the Clio Sport show at Blyton and hopefully it lasts at least a day this time!

EE brackets scare me, going to have to check mine, both break/fracture around the pinch bolt?
Round the pinch bole on one and the actual mounting on the other but they were the original cast alloy ones. They changed to steel afterwards and the Pure ones are billet alloy

I got mine direct from R sport. Came painted black, were heavy enough so probably steel. Can’t find r sport online, im sure that was the name of them?
 
It's been a while since the last update and a lots happened, good and bad but it's finally there!
Cliofest, awesome weekend and a great turnout.
I had re-wired the clutch switch for the eso I could have a play with the flat shift settings. After the last warning on the Saturday for noise Sunday was going well and was flying then it developed a misfire. Long story short cut fuel not spark on an engine that uses rocker type valvetrain. The unburnt fuel in the exhaust ignites and the pressure in the manifold can and in my case did open an exhaust valve and jumped a rocker!!
Head off new set of valves (again) and a bit of fetling and it's back together again. Spark cut instead of fuel and added mild launch control also which sounds awesome!

With the extra power it's always felt very under geared and having broken so many boxes decided to go for a meg box. Managed to get an amazing deal on a rebuilt box with a Helix paddle clutch / flywheel and a full set of cup racer engine mounts all as new!

Having driven with a plate diff for a while decided to fit another Gripper before fitting the box up. Straight swap really, just had to use some new meg cables shortened slightly and re-threaded to fit a Focus cable adjuster, (a chap I know had already done the same conversion so had a huge head start) Matt from Supreme made me up a new pipe in super quick time to adapt the clio clutch pipe to fit the megane slave cylinder. . .
After a load of dicking around with shaft lengths and one snapped I got them right and had some proper shafts made by an old retired engineer and job done! Cheap as chips and a work of art.

Bit of prep for the last few events before next year . . Jamie at Elite Fabrications in Blackpool fitted a much bigger centre and rear silencer for me and remade my makeshift mounts. The difference in tone is just what I wanted, worlds quieter at full throttle and cruise. Absolute bliss! Their fab work is 10/10 and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a proper free flowing system . . . and after all that turns out there's no sound limits at Anglesey!! :sweatsmile:

I think I've just about completed the Pure Motorsport suspension section now! The only thing that hasn't been done to the front end is the subframe bushes. Josh Wheelers kits have just come back in stock this week and should land with me tomorrow, have managed to borrow a spare subframe to sandblast and weld the new inserts in so I can just swap them in one hit and re-align the geo
 
How do you find the new melody of the single exhaust tip? :smilingimp:

It's a dream in comparison to what it was like before. Haven't really used it much so imagine it might get even quieter with a little road use. :smile: Just in time for Anglesey with no drive by sound limit :laughing: so the limiter and flat shift settings are getting changed back :grinning:

Managed to get some time on the car today, got the subframe fitted with the solid mounts and a Cup Racer roll bar. All straight forward, just had to cut the dog bone down again because the engines lower, Also the SWM splitter kit is a no go. Touches everywhere again because the engines so low so going to have to sell that unfortunately.
Adjusted the geo again was quite far out all round, front obviously because of the subframe but had to re shim the rear. -3.3 degrees camber and -0.8 toe up front and -2.2 degrees and near as dammit parallel at the back.

Quick report from the last few weeks . . .
Had already booked in with Wayne at Chip Wizards months ago to map it after the new manifold etc but then the box went so had to cancel . . . With Anglesey coming up I decided to get booked back in and changed the 105mm pulley down to a 100mm. Made 400bhp / 300lbs at 7000 rpm rather than 7500. Really happy with the gearbox now with a little more pull! A few friends have been to Wayne before with various cars but it's the first time I've met him and wow, the knowledge that man has!

After a very wet drive back from mapping and a big clean down I decided to persevere with the SW splitter. At first just to save the engine bay a little and aesthetics . . . cracked on and made some new mounts to lower it all which wasn't too bad in the end. Went for a drive down the motorway and its made a HUGE difference. So much more stable at speed.

After removing the brake ducts a while back I saw a chap on here had found some Corvette ducts which are absolutely perfect so bought a pair of them and fitted a smaller washer bottle to suit. Yet to arrive but look like they fit perfectly! The splitter is literally the perfect work bench!

First time back at Anglesey since the engine fire / melted engine. What a day. Was very cold but bone dry, decided to just leave the slicks on and ended up doing a 360 on the sighting lap! Was at the back of the group luckily so got away without too much embarrassment.
Car felt great all morning, just happy to be out again but had a lot of understeer (just put it down to temps) and the rear left caliper was sticking when it got hot so had a few lockups. Back left tyre was knackered with one bad flat spot so stuck my 'budget' Interstate semis on . . . . WOW! The difference was immense. Was like driving a different car. Felt like I'd wasted the morning but was out none stop all afternoon fault free bar a few lockups!

Ordered these 8'' Braids for a set of new slicks I have but after last weekend decided to try a set of Direzzas. The smallest they could go was Et55 with the wheels, they stick out a little too far but will be ok with a bit of arch trimming!

Managed to grab a few hours this afternoon to get some bits done. A friend had a few sets of R3 spec top mounts made so had a set of him to try a bit more caster/camber. Popped the bearings in the freezer overnight, cooked the top mounts at 255 degrees for half an hour and they popped straight in They've centralised the wheel a little more in the arch which is perfect and the tyres tucked up nicely into the arch now. Will re align properly next week but will be around 4 degrees of camber and a tad more caster . . .

The brake ducts finally landed from America. Couldn't be a better fit with a good inch gap from the tyre on full lock. Could only fit the o/s as one of the oil cooler pipes will need rerouting on the n/s.

And lastly started to butcher the rear bumper !!!! Not sure whether it was a good or bad decision yet! Still a lot of finishing off yet before the mesh goes in.

Why not considering flex pipe for break duct instead? That would save you from rerouting work for oil cooler pipes.

Question, the cuts for rear bumper, does it have any purpose or just cosmetic?
