Roof Bars For Clio 197

Does anyone know if standard clio mk3 roof bars fit a 197?

I've got a set of Thule bars on mine and the fixing kit works for all hatchback MK3s. Not sure about any other brands but I imagine its all the same - this is the specific Thule kit for MK3 Clios: Fitting Kit 3091

If it is Thule it should also be the 751 footpack, and mine has 108cm bars.

This site is also useful as it has a compatibility search and has other brands too.

How easy are the to attach and detach? As the idea would be using them to load wheels onto for trackdays.

Interesting, I've thought about doing the same thing, how are you planning on mounting the wheels?

It's easy to fit and remove after the first installation, literally just a case of unbolting/bolting it up as I do the same for bikes and such.

I'd recommend replacing the plastic clips that prevent water getting into the threads on the rear mounting as the factory plastic clips are shite and broke when I tried to remove them. I just used some short nylon/plastic screws to keep the water out and leave them finger tight.

Get them on ratchet strap them down and have one or two in the car.

I've seen a couple do this with clios and some with m3's as well.

Does your cage not let you fit them in the boot?

Ish - I can get 1 in the boot and 3 behind the seats but that would be taking a seat out to fit them in,

If you had got yourself a cheap bolt in cage you would not have these problems.
