I recently replaced the exhaust manifold flexibles on my 200 with new ones supplied by a well-known Clio specialist. The new ones had SS braid on the inside rather than the interlocked spiral tube of the originals. I was advised that these had been supplied for years without problems. Since refitting the exhaust I’ve become concerned that as the inner braid starts to fail under heat and vibration, the wire ‘whiskers’ will end up obstructing one or other of the cats.
