Am I the only one who doesn't see the point? Nobody will lose money as long as you drive your car you'll just fill up the day after?

Not meaning to piss on yoir bonfire or be awkward lol

PLEASE READ WHOLE DESCRIPTION: SEE ALL WEBSITES QUOTING THE EVENT!!!!!
Lets force the government to lower the taxation on fuel at fill up stations. in theory to lower their prices, please just make sure you don't visit a fuel station on April the 1st, just simply ensure that you have fuel in your car on that day so you do not have to fill/top up. This will create a massive back log and loss of profit for just one day and will mak...e them think that if we threaten to do this often we can make a difference PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND MAKE THE JOKE (APRIL 1ST) ON THEM! NEWS HAS JUST REPORTED PETROL COULD GO UP TO AS MUCH AS £2 PER LITRE CAN ANYONE AFFORD THAT???................. PLEASE HELP!

QUICK UPDATE: county newspaper has published small article online and in papers heres a link to the article to those thinking this is a joke

this is not about loss of profit over one day but merely the concept of having hundreds of thousands of people who are willing to do stand together may force somebody in power to do something about this!

Nah you aren't missing the point. There isn't any real point. The only thing that would have any affect on anyone would be if the petrol companies turned around and just said 'fine we will shut all our stations for 24hrs' that would cripple the country for about a week with people panic buying and then trying to catch up the days after. They make that much money they aren't reliant on the customers in the short-term.

Sorry, but this will have absolutely no effect. At all. Anyone that genuinely thinks it will, is delusional.

There's a deficit, which has to be paid for. Reducing taxation of one of the biggest cash cows is not going to happen. The price won't be going up because of vastly increased taxation, it'll be going up (potentially) due to outside factors.

This isn't even action! It's people showing the maximum they can go without fuel is 1 day! Blockades would potentially work, as happened in 2000. The widespread disruption would force a change (albeit temporary).

I will be filling up, and enjoying the fact I won't have to wait in line:wink:.

+1 lol!!!

Really can't see this working, but every little helps I guess.

Didn't they pass a law after the last blockades that mean't doing it again would be an act of terrorism?

Yeah I heard that too but chalked it down to urban myth. I'm with you brown bear I'll fill up just for the lols.

If everyone jumped on a bus or just stayed at home for like a week and proved the country can't run without private transport then maybe it would make a difference. But thats never gonna happen. :coffee:

Lets just hope we get round to invading Libya sooner rather than later. You never know we might get some cheaper oil if we install them a new government, whats the worst that could happen? lol

armed forces are already stretched enough with herrick commitments, and with reductions in numbers between now and 2015 you won't find anyone in the military agreeing with you.

Agreed. When i got invited to the event i said "No: Not attending" for that very reason. They wont loose any profits because extra people will fill up the day before or after and balance it out.

Also is it a coinsidence this is being organised for April Fools? :confused1:
