I said the same thing to Matt, and it's not the radiator it's the air conditioning condenser. I've kept A/C for now, if it fails I'll either replace it and regas it, or strip out the air con and fit a roof vent.

Well, brakes are on. Kinda makes me wish I'd put some new discs on at the same time as these look a bit scabby now! They'll clean up with a bit of use, then I'll stick some new ones on:

Also agreed on the refund with the previous caliper painting company, so we'll put that one behind us and move on!

Next up was a bit of head scratching on the rear tow strap. The original intention was to fit a fabric tow loop onto the Zero Point One bolt extension, but then it became apparent if that was the case the fabric loop would have dangled down in front of the left hand exhaust pipe, and would have looked shit. Also the diffuser/bumper area at the back doesn't really lend itself to being trimmed to accept the fabric tow strap loop.

Instead I had a look around on the internet to see how other people had done it, and took some inspiration from Josh Wheeler's car, who has a steel wire loop setup instead of a fabric strap:

Thankfully Matt had one lying around in black, so that's what we've ended up doing at the rear:

Just a heads up, my AC rad looked the same as yours. Did a track day at Snett in the summer and the coolant temps were through the roof as the fudged AC rad was blocking a lot of air from getting through to the rad, ruined my day as i could only do 3-4 laps at full tilt. For the sake of the cost of an AC delete kit i would rip that out ASAP, don't want it ruining any ring trips or track days.

If a job's worth doing... it's worth doing right (I really need to stop saying that because it costs me too much money)

Very nice.

When are you hoping to get your first drive in the transformed motor?

Once geo is done (hopefully this week), we know what shims to order from Pure Motorsport for the back end. Then we need to order and wait for them to arrive and for Matt to fit them. Then we need to arrange transport from South Wales to Yorkshire. I reckon 2-3 weeks?

My shakedown track day on 1st Feb got cancelled so it’s not like I’m in a rush for it back, although Matt does need the ramp space!
