paradas?

first off i dont want to sound like an idiot but, he tyres are runflats aint they? and secondly can you still put non runflats on and is there any problems (apart from obvious if you get a puncture your nackerd)? i only ask because i had yoko paradas on me fez st n i found them pretty good so i was thinking they could be a good option. what does everybody else run?

I have these tyres and if they are run-flats - I didn't know lol.

They're not bad but I won't be buying another set.

My front end grip mid-corner is poor. I've seen a 3 Series and a Mondeo with a better grip to speed ratio in the corners. I felt my car giving and had to hold off the throttle!!!

Oh - and in the wet they're rubbish.

Sorry I ment are the 197 tyres ment be run flats? That's a let down but I'm glad you said Tom I don't wanna be outrun by a Mondeo haha! What will you be trying next? Those eagle f1s get a good right up don't they but I don't know as to what others options. I haven't had too much chance to look on here either yet :tongueout: I will be doin though

standard 197 conti 3s arent run flats, just normal tyres. you can go for conti 5 (which i think replaces conti 3s, but im sure you may still find conti 3s about). i had hankook v12s fitted all round last year, wear alot better than contis, and the grip is on par with conti 3s, and cost round £60-75 a tyre which are alot cheaper than contis. i personally think there brillilant, and alot better than contis. tyre reviews highly rate them.

I don't know about the contis mate.

I think I'm going to get Hankook V12 next, following this thread:

The car that outdid me in that Corner was an ST lol. I'm probably just a crap driver - I certainly felt the grip going though.

Cheers for clearing that up about the run flats Ryan !those v12s Seem mega for there price cheaper than the eagle f1s n still seem to be good. Nice work. Oh n let you off it was an st haha there a bit underestimated, handling is supposed to be set up very well from what I believe

I've used paradas on my track day alfa before and i think they are leathal.

Down right dangerous in the wet, fold under and understeer in the dry, mate had some on a classic impreza and thought they were ****e too.

I took mine off after a ring trip because i was shocked yokohama could make such rubbish, mate asked if he could have them as he was doing a track day at castle combe in his 309 GTi and ended up in the tyre wall just before camp corner.

Steer clear :swear:

asif thats ruthless! bet he wasnt overly chuffed.

when i think on my fiesta i only had them a couple of months and i didnt really drive hard on them.i will deffo steer clear then dont fancy binning my pride n joy.

stick with looking at the v12 still although the more i read some of those reviews the conti sport 5s n eagle f1 a2 sound brilliant i just dont think they last as long as v12s.

bet he was gutted that 309 looks awesome too i always did like those.was it not as bad as it looked or was it nakerd? deffinately steering clear then

i was cringing when that ly f1 nearly hits the evo haha. and that guy in the z4 ...... thats looks expensive :worried:

what alfa you have tech?

v12s i think will be my option at 70ish a corner and all the good feed back you cant go wrong

The 309 still runs and is a track only car now, secondhand bonnet, headlight and wing got it looking about right again, kicked the door straight and just laugh at the rear quarter everytime you see it, had some pics somewere but cant find them.

My alfa is a 1800 twin spark 145.
