Newbie with new project...ouch!!!!

Hi all, been searching for a weekend toy for ages. Due to it being a 2nd car, didn't want to spend too much so I've taken a bit of a gamble with this. :tongueout:anic: Got it really cheap so will buy parts new (unless people know where I can get parts from good breakers). Other than that its 2007 Renault Clio Renaultsport 197 F1 edition, liquid yellow, 37,854 miles, full service history. Will keep you all informed..

lool i emailed the seller of this car! would not part with the recaros!! haha

and theirs a few people that work for renault on the site which im sure will be very helpful and for aftermarket parts speak to woody...got pretty much every aftermarket product on his car!! even crome plastic spinners ftw!!! :tongueout: haha

Nice car, such a shame about the damage. Welcome to the site and good luck with the repairs. TwingoGeek off here (Karl) works for a Renault, so would give you a good price on any new parts. But I think your best bet is to keep an eye out on ebay for any 197's being broken. Some of the parts are similar to a Megane as well, but you would have to double check to make sure you know what you are buying will fit.

Other than that, you could ring around a few scrap yards in the off chance, or ring the guys at Four Ashes Renault. The website is www.fourashesrenault.co.uk . They are a Renault specialst and often have Renault Sport damaged vehicles.

hello there mate. Welcome. I think ebay wil b your best bet for bumpers, headlights etc for the bits behind i would say stealers. Gud luck

:welcome: to the site!

World of Parts and Twingogeeko are traders on here - Twingogeeko is a renault specialist :smile:

Good luck with it mate!

Ok in future can people put warnings before they post such horrible pictures... I wasn't prepared for that!!
Glad to hear your restoring it though mate! Now I'm just gona go for a little cry as I'm still a bit shaken...

Wow, someone really ran out of talent there!!

Looks like it escaped the chassis rails, which may be your saviour, but I'd be going over the seat mounts, belt mounts, steering column etc with a fine toothed comb - there'll have been a lot of forces put on various important things that may well be fatigued without appearing so.

Good look with the rescue.
