hi to all, just quick question lookin at getin a clio 197, bloke in renault today told me they are 197bhp but been told by others they ant 197bhp been told 197 is just the model,, any body know the right answer?? thanks lee

They are meant to be 197 bhp, like the 200 is meant to be 200 bhp and the 182, 182 bhp and so on and so on.

With the 197, the car should produce 197 but they all produce just under. Its nothing to worry about! 190+ bhp is fast enough for that size car!
 
197 is the PS figure, which typically is about 4 more than BHP. So the 197 is 194 bhp. I would say they on average, from rolling road read out on here, make 190 bhp.
 
I have no idea! Lol! German measurment I think. Hang on, Wiki will help!
 
yea i like them ones, wots the difference in the two? also where the best place to look to get ? not many on pistonheads at mo?

i traveeled 188 miles each way to get mine!!!!!

seriously youll look at loads before u get a nice one.... so in the long run a full dya out may cut teh chase of 30 mile shere, then 30 miles there n so on n so on,
