Hi all, new to the forum after lurking for a few months. Always had a petrol car and still have a Nissan S14a in storage but needed a diesel for commuting in recent years. A lift share arrangement means we now only need one dirty diesel in the household so picked this up on Sunday.
Had a brilliant run through Snowdonia to get the boat from Holyhead to Dublin. As I pulled up to the ramp for the boat the gearstick went slack and I couldn’t select 1st or 2nd. Managed to get it onto the boat and left it below decks thinking I’d bought a lemon.
With a 200 mile journey on the other side there was lots of panicking done during the crossing ....I eventually stumbled across a post by Sibbers and realised it was just the gear linkage collar had slipped loose. Quick fix before getting off the ferry and an enjoyable nighttime blast home on the other side.
Have a few plans for the car but mostly just intend to enjoy the driving experience. I would like to fix up some of the little niggling things like a loose drivers door handle, dodgy headlight/diplight stalk and I’ll possibly get a sprintbooster at some stage.
