My RS('S)

Nice to see you had a couple different cars befor you came back to a Clio. I'm a bit in the same boat right, i'm trying to sell my Meg PH1 225 and looking at a lot of different cars, but something in the back of my mind is telling that almost no other car would give me the fun i had in my Clio!
The reason you returned to a Clo is pure for fun factor??

Nice. That's a late 197, can't me many 09s around? Good collection, you should add in your other motors too. I'm interested, what went wrong with your first RS Meg?

5 cars in between lol

I no just what you mean, the only thing I didn't like about my first GW cup was the seats, they used to give me back ache that's why this one had to have Recaro's

I've had it 4 months in 2 days time & for once I'm not getting board

It is a very very late April 09

I'll post a few pics tomorrow, i'm very lucky to get an allowance & mileage from work

In the first 5 weeks in went into Renault for warranty work 6 times & they still couldn't fix everything wrong. When ever it rained the dash used to light up like an xmas tree. After 8 weeks I decided to sell, it took 4 months, Sheffield Renault bought it in the end, they sent a transporter down & a cheque & took it away

In order, my 1st car was a nova sport, then a 309 GTI then a Mazda 323 GTI, I've got pics of these somewhere up the loft I think, then I had about 10 years of company vans & cars then I bought this, sold it to my brother inlaw, it's still going strong today

after the meg

then came my GW 197 Cup followed by the 225 F1 Team which ended up running about 260bhp with a decat, larger cooler, R26 exhaust

Lovely collection of cars there. 197 looks mint! Howdid the jdm ep3 and dc5 compare to the 197? Always wanted a dc5 but insurance and finding a clean one was proving a little hard.

I looked at four teg's before I bought mine.

There's not a lot in it between the two. What a lot of people forget is how well 197's & 200's are from the factory. I'm on my 2nd 197 cup, that shows which I prefer.

It's been about four years since I've driven a none cup 197 so I can only remember cup's. The JDM's are beginning to feel their age after owning newer cars.

A major factor, depends on how you get the JDM suspension set up. 197's have a bit more grunt low down, jdm vtec pulled a bit harder higher up the rev range. Teg brakes are shocking, even the ukdm set up was better than the jdm brembo's. I could go on all night...lol

Don't feel so bad not owning one now haha, but no doubt il have to go jdm some time in future with an fd2  if only the tuning potential on the clios was as good as the k20. Mate owns a dc5 but ive not driven it. Il have to have a go but as you say theres probably not much in it as they are made to run on 102 ron.

& there's always something that needs tidying, is does ware you down after a while lol I would still have a FD2 though

I'd forgotten about this thread, time for an update

After the 197, to save a few £££ I found a low mileage RB 182 cup. Recaro's from trophy 007 were soon added, the longest I've ever kept a car.

We didn't get on, after 4 months I gave it back to Ford.

The 200 itch was still there
