They are completely different. One is FWD, the other is RWD. The 993 has almost 20 years more than the Clio, and much less technology. The Clio is a superb all rounder and I really enjoy driving it. That's why it is indeed my daily driver. The 993 is much faster, but lacks refinement to be used on a daily basis. However, it is an excelent drive everytime I take it, and you can really feel the difference from the older 911s (I also have a 1988 911 Carrera 3.2 which is completely different, being more archaic and unpredictable). The 993 is also going up in value, which is a great bonus (It is the last air cooled 911 and its design is spot on)!
If I had to choose one, I'd go for the Clio, as it is more useable and modern. In fact, whenever I spend too much time driving the 993 I always miss my little Clio! roud:
