That's not good.:worried::worried::worried:

Think a number of people have had their engines "miss-timed". Not easy to time allegedly.

You can have the timing tested, by using the correct timing tools.

But that's an extra cost you should not have todo.. Espesaily from a Renault garage

Did you try to claim anything back mike on the work or did you take it on the chin

Yep, and I don't take no lying down, but I got no support from Evans halshaw and Renault uk were as useful as a chocolate fireguard, and that was even after I had had issues with renault retail Group thief used aces arm being completely useless with an rs model 4 months earlier. Keep pushing, arguing and quote my name on several cases if you wish, but unless they have admitted it as a potential manufacture stage defect, condom machine in monastery comes to mind

Tbh mike i havnt the time to argue with renault i am p@@@@d off about the cams but i can forsee it dragging out mOnths ive tried warrentyy in the past with other cars and not got anywhere If it was a window seal or recaro seat then Ill push it As i can live with that whilst driving around but i defo cant live with the engine being he way it is good excuse now to get shricks put in

Mine didn't show anything until it was up the rev range as the cams were timed in with each other but out agaist the crank

That's why you take it to a proper specialist

birchdown
Btm
519
diamond motors

These guys have been doing RS Clios for years and are at home with the mk3

note I didn't include NWP, they don't know what they are doing, a quick search on CS will confirm this

Ive not long brought the car mate so the cam problem ive inherited so to speak it was Highligted when i took the car to get mapped id prob never have known :scared:

But why would the cam timing have been messed with/cambelt changed on a car that is less then 3 years old. If its hasnt then its been like it since new?

warranty work maybe?

is it "faulty" due to the run-up on the rollers?

or has it been "checked"?

Fred at btm first noticed the ticking when i took the car to him to lowered last month but i chose to ignore it hoping it would go away then i went back to him couple of weeks ago to get the akro fitted and he pulled me again albeit i only get the ticking when the car is warm i again hoped it would go away you see it dosnt always happen btbf we hardly use the car anyway then finally mat run it on the rollers yesterday and reckons im loosing circa 15-20 bhp through the cams hence the reason we pulled the car off untill the cams get sorted ive just been unlucky in the one ive brought i suppose

More than lIkely since new mate Apparently renault are aware of the problem on certain ones but choose to ignore it

So you cammin it then, it would be rude not too. Those italian ones fernando is sellin look a good shot.

on the bright side mate, the car is gunna feel super fast when you get it put right,if its down 20bhp on standard and you fit some schricks you could gain anywhere between 35 and 45bhp! yee haa!
