200: Mid service schedule oil change

Hi all,

I have a 1yr old Clio 200 Cup that has done 5000 miles and although the schedule states 12k/2yrs until the 1st service i'm thinking of getting the oil & oil filter changed at the current mid service point.

Even though the 200 isnt listed on opieoils i assume this is the correct spec oil/oil filter in this pack?

Speak to Karl, in something that new I would be sticking to OE oil and filters to be honest. It will probably cost about the same as that.

My 200's never been serviced according to the schedule, 2 years is far too long between for me. It's either been done every 12k miles so far or yearly as it is next month.

It generally feels a bit better for it too.

Elf oil (OEM) is surpisingly cheap when bought from a Renault stealer.

I changed the oil on my 200 when it was a year old (circa 5k miles). 2 years is too long in my opinion, even if it is long life oil.

5 litres of Elf 5/40, an OEM oil filter and a sump washer cost about £40. Daft not to at that price.

Changed mine myself at 5k/5 months with genuine filter etc. Thought that 12k is too long on the oil from the factory and was surprised that they don't recommend a first change at around 1k.

I use x-cess not x-clean the later has an additive for diesel engines only and costs more.

X-cess in my sport also. 6000 miles intervals.. 12.000 is way too much..
