looking to buy 197. milage help.

Lookin to get a 197 early next year. Iv been lookin around allready
My budget is about £8000. All the cars iv seen are around 08 and have between 30 and 50k millage. This seems pretty high for a 4yr old car. Is this average? ??
Also what milage are these engines good for before a rebuild?

30 - 50k is nothing!

Average mileage is 10-12k per year so a 4 year old car is likely to be on 40 - 50k by this time. Mines just coming up to 5 years and has 60k on the clock.

Condition is more important than mileage as far as I am concerned. As long as the history stacks up, services haven't been missed and it drives well it's all good.

Wow thats the average.i dnt evan do 10k a year i do bout 8 max hahaaa. Maybe thats why it seems high. So below 40k is good then. Cheers for tht. What milage before rebuilds? Or is it run till it blows haha

There are some 1*2's on cliosport with 140k+ on them. The F4R engine seems to last well as long as it's looked after properly. There have been a few occasions of them throwing a rod, but it's pretty rare as far as I can tell.

8k should get you a good car, i got a less than three year old with 31k miles on it for that at the begining of the year.
