KTEC filter worn - wear - damage

Hi all,

I removed my ktec filter today as I was changing the gearbox oil and found that the filter is heavily worn.

Surely it’s not supposed to be this bad after 2 years.

Can you buy this separately or is there a better solution?

Would be worth sending an email to KTEC about it with pictures, never know they may send out a replacement.

Mine is exactly the same on my 182.

You can buy a replacement filter direct from k-tec and im sure after 2 years they won't replace it FOC as it could be down to poor maintenance.

Are filters like this supposed to disintegrate then (genuine question)? More likely down to an incorrectly manufactured kit than poor maintenance, if not. Send an email anyway, the worst they can say is no!

I have no idea to be honest but I know its RAMAIR that make the filters for them.
Like I say mine on my 182 has done exactly the same and I will be buying a new one to replace it (Around £46 I think)

My ramair did exactly the same on a previous car.
It’s either poor maintenance or it’s been rubbing on something

Might be cheaper for you to measure the filter and try to buy one yourself

it does look "rubbed away"
