Hi, my instrument cluster has a crack so I am looking to change it. Am I right in thinking it will just drop in and the mileage etc is read from the ECU rather than being imbedded in the cluster ?

No, unfortunately it’s stored in the dials

Ok thanks for that. Looks like I will have to live with the crack for the time being.

I believe there are people who can adjust the mileage if you were to get a second hand one but never had it done myself

Mileage can be adjusted, had a mobile mechanic do mine when I fitted the 200 clocks in mine. He used Clip IIRC.

When you say cracked, is it just the plastic lens or the actual body of the clocks? The plastic lens can be swapped from any MK3 Clio speedo.

Its just the clear plastic lens, I wasnt sure if it was glued on or not, sounds like it could be easily removed which could work.

Yeah it just clips in, funnily enough I cracked mine when fitting new dials,quite easy to crack if you're not careful lol
